Group education showed improvement in understanding, reduced negative attitudes, improved empowerment, and reduced distress levels; individual education group showed improvement in understanding, reduced negative attitudes, improved empowerment, and reduced distress levels; group education with Map Tools proved to be better than usual care at empowering patients and resulted in improved psychological outcomes.
