Chicago, IL November 29 – Healthy Interactions, a leading global provider of diabetes patient engagement and education programs that have reached over 30 million patients in 127 countries validated by 57 independent clinical studies, today announced it has earned Certified status for information security by the Health Information Trust (HITRUST) Alliance. With the HITRUST CSF Certified Status, Healthy Interactions meets key healthcare regulations and requirements for protecting and securing sensitive private healthcare information.
CSF Certified status indicates that the organization has met industry-defined requirements and is appropriately managing risk, and places Healthy Interactions in an elite group of organizations worldwide that have earned this certification. By including federal and state regulations, standards and frameworks, and incorporating a risk-based approach, the HITRUST CSF helps organizations address these challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.
“Over the past decade, Healthy Interactions has had one single minded purpose: to improve the lives of patients with diabetes. After 30 million patients, it remains our passion – though our methodology has become increasingly more digital. The protection of electronic health information is important to us, our health system customers and their patients. We are proud to have achieved HITRUST CSF Certified status as a validation of our on-going commitment to data security,” says Paul Lasiuk, CEO at Healthy Interactions.
“HITRUST has been working with the industry to ensure the appropriate information protection requirements are met when sensitive health information is accessed or stored in a cloud environment,” said Ken Vander Wal, Chief Compliance Officer, HITRUST. “We are pleased that Healthy Interactions has taken the steps necessary to achieve HITRUST CSF Certified status, and we expect their customers to have confidence in this designation.”
For over a decade, Healthy Interactions has created innovative approaches to improving the outcomes of chronic conditions. Our programs focus on creating a meaningful and ongoing dialogue between health care providers and health care consumers. We design the right tools to create a structured interaction that can be delivered in a one-on-one environment or in small groups. Our digital tools support health care consumers in moving toward their goals with information, tracking, and ongoing peer and health care professional interactions. The result of our programs is consumers that are more active partners in their health, which improves the outcomes of their diseases.
We offer more than 200 programs for chronic conditions, and have become a global leader in Diabetes. We provide our programs to health systems and clinics in the U.S., and have pharmaceutical sponsors that provide our programs throughout the world.
