Holiday Health and Peace - Thanks to All!

We would like to dedicate this holiday season blog to everyone involved in Healthy Interactions’ work: all of the amazing Conversation Map facilitators from over 120 countries, our association partners, such as American Diabetes Association, International Diabetes Federation, as well as all of the local associations involved in our global program. I also would like to give thanks to our corporate sponsors who allow for all of this to continuously happen.

At our holiday party, our CEO, Paul Lasiuk said:

  • “Every minute of every day WE ARE IMPROVING LIVES”
  • “Every minute of every day PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH CONVERSATION MAP SESSIONS”
  • “The sun never sets ON OUR PROGRAMS”

Our internal Healthy Interactions team celebrated in Toledo this year as we have a team in Toledo who develops the Conversation Map tools. Below is an image of our internal team from our offices in Chicago, Columbus, and our newest digital solution team in Vancouver and Toronto.

It takes big collaborative efforts to deploy programs globally. Many are involved on both a micro and macro level.  Eventually, we, and likely those who read this blog, are involved in having a positive impact on the millions of those who struggle to live with diabetes each day. We deliver with the mission of advocating for diabetes self-management and advancing the profession of diabetes education.

Thank you to all involved for the diversity, creativity, and persistence of our mission. The programs are lead globally, but managed and implemented locally. For that reason, we are grateful for all local affiliates, expert trainers, local clinicians, and all other professionals involved in the creation of this global movement in diabetes care delivery. Despite cultural diversity and demographics, people with diabetes can finally receive the consistent, evidence-based, and comprehensive diabetes self-management education that they deserve. The Map facilitators have been standardizing the learner-focused education and this Map methodology is a global standard.

With the addition of digital solutions to our patient care experience, we are excited for the future ahead and cannot wait to see what positive impacts lie ahead.

As for the future of diabetes care, the U.S. continues to improve as per the newest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that the rate of new cases fell by approximately one-fifth from 2008 to 2014, the first sustained decline since the disease started to explode in this country about 25 years ago.

It is phenomenal to see the impact of the dedicated work of those who are devoted to improving diabetes outcomes.  You are the heart of this amazing movement and we celebrate your work!
