A Patient-Centered Approach of Newly Arrived Persons to a Diabetes Clinic
Portugal • 2014
Program 1: over shorter period of time (4 weeks) — no consistent changes for BMI or HbA1c; Program 2: over longer period of time (3 months) — no consistent changes with BMI, but HbA1c decreased from 9.10% at baseline to 8.25% at the end of the study period; indicates that longer duration of DSME enables slower integration of knowledge and skills in daily life.
