Applying New Diabetes Teaching Tools in Health-Related Extension Programming

A total of 97% of participants rated the sessions as “valuable” or “very valuable”; 98% felt better able to discuss their diabetes management with their physician; 94% reported that they were using the information they learned by better budgeting carb foods at meals and snacks, controlling food portions, reading food labels for carb and fat content, and discussing health issues with their health care provider; participants felt better able to support diabetes care in themselves or others, better able to discuss health info with physician, and in better control of their health and diabetes.
